Indigenous Food Systems

Valuing Indigenous food systems

  • What are the traditional or “key foods” for Coast Salish, Nuu-chah-nulth, and/or Kwakwakw’wakw on Vancouver Island and what is happening to ensure they are part of future diets?
  • How can past and existing trade networks and traditions be documented and supported?
  • How can indigenous food security support community health and land and entitlement rights?
